The MOOER Micro Preamp 016 Phoenix is a compact digital preamp pedal designed to capture the tone, power, and versatility of the legendary ENGL Powerball high-gain tube amplifier. As part of MOOER’s acclaimed Micro Preamp Series, the Phoenix delivers everything from crystal-clear cleans and tight rhythm crunch to massive modern metal distortion, making it an excellent choice for hard rock, progressive metal, power metal, and modern high-gain guitarists.

Built using MOOER’s advanced digital amplifier modeling technology, the Phoenix faithfully recreates the aggressive character, tight low-end response, and exceptional note definition of the original amplifier while maintaining an ultra-compact pedalboard-friendly format. The pedal provides authentic tube-amp dynamics, articulate high-gain performance, and smooth lead sustain suitable for both studio recording and live performance applications.

The pedal features two fully independent channels — Clean and Distortion. The clean channel delivers sparkling clarity with excellent headroom and articulation, while the gain channel offers powerful distortion with tight bass response, focused mids, and singing sustain, ideal for heavy rhythm work and soaring lead tones.

Each channel includes independent Gain, Volume, Bass, Middle, and Treble controls, allowing detailed tone shaping and seamless switching between clean and driven sounds. The footswitch can operate in standard On/Off mode or Channel A/B mode, providing greater flexibility during rehearsals and live performances.

An integrated speaker cabinet simulation enables direct connection to recording interfaces, mixers, PA systems, FRFR speakers, and monitoring systems without requiring a traditional amplifier. The cabinet simulation can also be bypassed when used with conventional guitar amplifiers and speaker cabinets.
