The Star Reserve TCS1455H snare drum begins with a shell of 1.5mm brass, chosen for its sensitivity, projection, and musicality. TAMA’s tone experts hammer the shell by hand to produce its unique barrel shape, resulting in warmth and musicality that today’s players demand.
2.3mm brass hoops
A fine edge gives TAMA’s specialized Customized Brass Mighty Hoops added brightness and attack, resulting in a cutting cross-stick and a dynamic backbeat every time.
Linear-Drive throw off and butt plate
TAMA’s model MLS50 throw off prevents the "slap" of snare wires hitting the bottom head, allowing seamless transitions between tenored and active snare tones. The Linear-Drive system holds snare wires firmly and safely at a 30° angle and features a linear-motion strainer mechanism for precise snare tensioning. A matching butt plate completes the set.
